Affiliated Club Coordinator (ACC) - Position Description
The Affiliated Club Coordinator (ACC) serves as the primary contact and resource person for Amateur Radio clubs within the section. The ACC's role is to motivate, assist, and coordinate joint activities among radio clubs.
The ACC is appointed by and reports to the Section Manager.
Requirement:
- Full ARRL membership is required.
Responsibilities:
- Establish personal connections with Amateur Radio clubs’ members and officers.
- Understand the needs, strengths, and interests of clubs and assist in making them effective community resources and more enjoyable for members.
- Encourage affiliated clubs to become more active and, if they are already effective, to apply for Special Service Club (SSC) status.
- Provide clubs with SSC application forms and assist in completing them.
- Help clubs develop workable programs to qualify as SSCs.
- Approve SSC applications and forward them to the Section Manager.
- Work closely with other section leadership officials, including:
- Section Emergency Coordinator
- Public Information Coordinator
- Technical Coordinator
- State Government Liaison
- Other key personnel to ensure clubs remain engaged in ARRL Field Organization activities.
- Encourage new clubs to become ARRL-affiliated.
- Ensure annual reports from all affiliated clubs are submitted, including officer updates and liaison mailing addresses.
- Recruitment of new hams and ARRL members is a critical part of the role.
- Appointees should take every opportunity to recruit and expand the ARRL membership base to strengthen Field Organization programs and public service capabilities.
